Through combining black inks on the acrylic glass with clear carrier liquids, altering their temperatures and introducing movement, he is able to tease out the spectrum of color from within each black. Each ink is formed differently and therefore has the potential to offer dramatically different colors.

While not unusual for an artist to spend hours at a time painting, his process is a little different. He often spends sessions of 12+ hours sitting with a painting, yet just 5% of this time will he be actively painting. It’s a process of patience, observation, acceptance and the knowledge that one tiny action can change the future of something drastically.
